SGO announces release of Mistika Version 4.6 (24/7/2009)

SGO, one of the leading European developers of high-end solutions for the post production and broadcast markets is pleased to announce the release of Mistika Version 4.6.

Mistika’s latest upgrade to version 4.6 has added useful new features providing users with real-time native support for most standard file formats and video codecs that are widely used in the post production industry, with special focus on the RED R3D file format and new workflows for tapeless production. 4K R3D files can be graded in real-time with outputs to 2K and HD at true mastering quality without the need for rendering or conversion.  The R3D camera settings are also maintained,  enabling it to be changed on a clip by clip basis at any time. Mistika is unique as it can now provide the complete  R3D workflow for 4K film projects in real-time, enabling users to work at the start of a project using original R3D files, right through to the end of the project where the master files can be as large as 4K DPX formats.

Secondly, the colour grading tools in Mistika have been enhanced significantly both in terms of functionality and speed with the powerful capability of colour grading 4K DPX images.  Mistika has full control of colour spaces such as the logarithmic DPX RGB 4:4:4 for film laboratories or Tiff 16 XYZ for DCM mastering.

In addition, Mistika’s developing stereoscopic 3D toolset, has also advanced with new exciting tools for creative stereoscopic 3D production. The system now provides the complete workflow for the automatic control of both eyes in all postproduction areas, such as colour grading, compositing in a true 3D camera environment, eye distance adjustments, image restoration, quality recovering tools, separate rendering for each eye, the ability to lay on tape both eyes to an SR tape, as well as other specialised tools for stereoscopic 3D production.

SGO will be demonstrating all of these exciting new enhanced features in Mistika at IBC 2009 at Stand C30, Hall 7 at the RAI in Amsterdam. To book a demo or viewing at the Mistika DI Suite, email marketing@sgo.es to reserve your place.
